The Pilot
Our owner and chief pilot, Charlie Snow, has been flying since the young age of 14 and flying professionally for 35 years. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Charlie began his career with the FAA in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1988, he and his family moved to Roanoke Island where he later became a project manager/civil engineer for Cape Hatteras National Seashore, as well a Park Service pilot. After retiring from the government, Charlie began flying charter flights and tours full time. In 2007 he founded Outer Banks Air Charters. Now Charlie is enjoying doing what he does best. Flying. And he loves taking folks up for their first flight.
When Charlie isn’t in the air, he also enjoys bike riding (10-20 miles per day when he can find the time), eating out, repairing clocks (ask him about Andy Griffith’s clocks), traveling and spending time with his family.
