This week we had the opportunity to help a young man and his fiance’s best friend give a surprise birthday air tour to his fiance. It was well documented by the two ladies with two nice cameras. They gave us permission to add them to our site in sequence for potential customers. Aren’t their photos great?

Outer Banks Air Charters was fortunate to be the ONLY aerial documentation of the move of the famous Serendipity House from the movie Nights in Rodanthe. We did this from a helicopter in conjunction with our sister company Coastal Helicopters, LLC. Enjoy the video and still aerial pictures below.
You think airline security has become burdensome? YOU AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’ YET! After the latest terrorist attempt, we are fast approaching a mandatory 2 hours airport check-in before flight departure.
But, when you fly with Outer Banks Air Charters:
- No security check
- No scans
- No luggage invasions
- No shoe removal
- No layovers
- No hassles
- No flight leaves without you on board
- We’ve NEVER lost a piece of luggage in 49 years
- Our average time from YOUR airport arrival to YOUR flight departure, a whopping 10 minutes!
We have completed the complex vetting procedures for access to the closest three airports to downtown DC, including College Park, the oldest continuously operating airport in the world. The others are Potomac Airfield and Hyde Executive Field.
This was a lengthy process to approval, including exam, redtape/paperwork, and fingerprinting by the TSA. Few pilots and commercial operators have completed this process.
College Park Airport is the most convenient access to downtown DC as the College Park Metro Terminal a block from the Airport Terminal, and about a 10 minute Metro ride to Downtown DC.
College Park Airport is a 1.5 hour flight from the OBX.
Day trips are available. You can leave the OBX with your family, fly to DC and spend a few hours in museums and return to the OBX by dinner.
Of course, we still fly into ALL DC metro area airports, with the exception of Reagan National, closed since 9/11 to all but scheduled carriers.
